How We Protect Privacy
Our approach ensures you can measure event success while respecting visitor privacy and complying with GDPR.
No Facial Recognition
We don't use facial recognition technology. Our system detects people as shapes and movements, never identifying who they are. No biometric data is ever captured or stored.
No Personal Data Storage
We never store images of faces or any personally identifiable information. The moment a person is detected, they become an anonymous data point - a number, not a name.
Instant Anonymization
Video frames are processed in real-time. We extract position and movement data, then discard the original imagery. The raw video is never stored in our systems beyond processing.
Secure Infrastructure
All data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Our infrastructure runs on AWS in the EU region, complying with EU data residency requirements.

Legitimate Interest
Event organizers have a legitimate interest in understanding attendance patterns to improve event planning, ensure safety, and report to stakeholders. Because we process only anonymous aggregate data (no personal data), the privacy impact on individuals is minimal.
Why This Approach Works
- No individual can be identified from our data - we produce aggregate statistics only
- The purpose (counting people) cannot be achieved without some form of video analysis
- Visitors can reasonably expect that public events may monitor attendance for safety and planning
- Data minimization is built into our process - we only collect what we need
Event Signage Guidelines
To ensure transparency and compliance, we recommend displaying signage at your events.
Recommended Signage
- Display clear signage at event entrances informing visitors that video analytics are in use
- State that no personal data or faces are stored - only anonymous attendance statistics
- Include contact information for data protection inquiries
- Make signage visible and readable in the local language
